Bio: Ms. Padron graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2004 and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida in 2007. She has 10 years of experience providing mental health and substance abuse services to adults and families, in outpatient, residential substance abuse and shelter settings. In addition to providing direct services in the community, prior to joining FIU she has worked with victims of trauma and domestic violence. She has also worked on a collaborative initiative with the Florida Coalition against Domestic Violence. This collaborative project focused on increasing response and improving mental health services for victims of domestic violence. Ms. Padron also performed volunteer work to increase community awareness about the issue of human trafficking as outreach coordinator for the Life of Freedom Center in Miami, FL. Ms. Padron’s practice has a strong focus on survivors of emotional and physical abuse, as well as mood and anxiety disorder.
