The Faculty Group Practice

 

FIU HealthCare Network (HCN) manages the faculty group practice of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at two clinical sites. The group practice provides medical services to the university and general community. Its physicians are accredited faculty members at the college of medicine, and the clinics serves as a teaching site for HWCOM medical and physician assistant students.

HCN is responsible for managing operations, support staff, and revenue cycles at these locations.

Student Health

FIU HealthCare Network manages the Student Health Clinic (SHS) at the Modesto Maidique Campus (MMC) and Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC). The clinic offers the following medical services to all FIU students supported by a student fee.

  • general medical/primary care
  • gynecology
  • dermatology
  • psychiatry/behavioral health
  • lab services
  • pharmacy (MMC campus)

FIU Embrace

FIU Embrace is a university-wide initiative that promotes health, wellness, and overall functioning for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities (ID), and other neurodevelopmental disorders (OND).

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in collaboration with FIU Embrace, provides a comprehensive, integrated care model FIU Embrace – Medical. Services includes primary care, gynecology, behavioral health services such as psychiatric care, as well as laboratory and other ancillary services to adults with ASD, ID, and OND.
